2019 is our second annual Strokes for Strokes Outing! Last year we raised over five thousand dollars for the National Stroke Association! That money went towards NSA's mission to increase awareness of warning signs and symptoms of stroke, empower survivors and improve quality of life in the stroke community. We are planning this year's tournament to be bigger and better in every aspect, so we can strengthen our impact in the community and on those affected by stroke.
Thank you for visiting Strokes For Strokes! My name is Rob Jaouen and I am hosting this event with the outing committee in memory of my father Bob Jaouen.
My father suffered from a stroke and it instantly changed his life and the lives of his close friends and family. Following his stroke Bob spent his last 7 months fighting to recover, which was a very trying time. My family was incredibly lucky to have received an overwhelming amount of support in our time of need. Having that support made a world of difference in our attitude towards the injury and our ability to keep Bob's spirits high. Unfortunately, there are many stories like my father's, as Stroke is the fifth leading cause of death in the U.S., but I am grateful to have the opportunity to pay that support forward through this event.
Strokes For Strokes is an opportunity for us to:
Encompass Bob's fun-loving spirit through a fun filled day with a round of golf, food, drink, friends and family
Have his kindheartedness live on through a number of fund raising activities in which proceeds will be donated to those impacted by stroke
Raise stroke awareness and education among our participants and their communities
We thank you for your support and look forward to seeing you on the course!
